Leisure time

In Sandefjord, there's no such thing as boredom. Here, you can fish for salmon and lobster, ski for 100 days a year, and enjoy walks along the coastal Kyststien or the historic Pilgrimsleden trail. Bugården, located just outside the city center, features exercise equipment, playgrounds, a tennis hall, an ice rink, a sports hall, and a scenic walking path around Bugårdsdammen. It’s the perfect spot to feed the ducks or relax on one of the many park benches.

With 160 km of coastline, over 100 beaches, and 124 islands and islets, Sandefjord is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. You can enjoy endless recreational opportunities, from hiking and biking trails to sailing and fishing in crystal-clear waters.

Children and young people have no shortage of activities. Sandefjord offers youth clubs, Naper'n and free facilities like the ice rink, swimming hall, skate park, and Hesteskoen bathing facilies in Hesteskoen.

Sandefjord hosts Sandarcupen, Norway's second largest football tournament after the Norway Cup. We are also proud of our elite league team, Sandefjord Football, and their stunning arena.

Shopping in Sandefjord is a year-round delight. During summer visits to the city center, remember to bring your swimwear! The new inner harbor bathing facility features a floating pier with multiple swimming zones and diving boards. Nearby, you’ll find a skate park, sand volleyball court, basketball court, floorball court, park area, and Tufte Park—all free of charge. Adjacent to these is a mini-golf facility. Head to Hesteskoen for a variety of activities to suit every taste.
